Biography & Background

Tammy is a Christian, wife, mother, grandma, sister, friend, neighbor, and 5th generation citizen of Idaho who knows how to get things done.

Tammy advocates for the unborn as a lobbyist with Right to Life of Idaho. Most recently, she is proud to have been a partner in the work toward Idaho adopting the Texas style Heartbeat Bill, which stops abortions after a baby’s heartbeat is detected.

For years Tammy has worked to strengthen Idaho families, serving as, a City Council Member and Mayor of Grand View, Idaho, a Water and Sewer board member, a Planning and Zoning member, as Executive Director of Healthy Families Nampa, and as the Faith-Based Liaison under two Republican administrations.

Tammy serves her community as a board member of Right to Life of Idaho, the Idaho Right to Life Education Society, and the Rimrock Community Food Pantry. She attends Knight Community Church in Grand View, Idaho.

As evidenced by her years of public service, Tammy’s commitment to her neighbor and fellow Idahoan is sincere and grounded in her conservative Christian values. She looks forward to bringing those same conservative values with her to the Idaho legislature.

Top 3 Issues:

1. Religious Freedom People shouldn’t have to go against their core values and beliefs in order to conform to culture or government. The moral and religious beliefs of individuals and institutions should be respected. – The Heritage Foundation Family, church and state institutions, and their respective laws and rules, are intended and founded for the benefit of the people. Judeo-Christian principles served our founding father’s well as they drafted the constitution for our nation. Tammy is committed to using these same guiding principles to protect our religious freedom, and constitutional rights, as she serves in the Idaho House.
2. 2nd Amendment Rights As the current administration in DC leans further left with their public policies, it is imperative that we be vigilantly in guarding our 2nd Amendment Rights, along with our personal liberties and Idaho’s sovereignty. Individuals are endowed with the right to own guns for personal defense and to provide food for their families. Gun control does not keep criminals from possessing guns. Tammy truly believes an armed society is a free society, and she will fight for all our gun right!
3. Agriculture and Water Security – Idaho farmers and ranchers feed Idahoans, and the world. As we watch Ukraine, and potentially Europe, prepare for a “famine”, Idaho leaders must support public policy that strengthens Idaho’s agricultural interests. 18% of our economy is generated from agriculture. As people move to Idaho, and development encroaches on precious real estate, it is imperative legislative action and land use planning make food production easier for the producers, not more expensive and difficult. Our water supply is finite. Idaho water needs to be managed in Idaho and serve Idaho’s needs, not out of state interests. The aquifer and run off, in our drought prone state, cannot sustain both agricultural priorities and the continued rapid growth in the area of huge government incentivized developments. Idaho should not be cutting fees and taxes for large developments and corporations at the sake of agriculture and the tax payer. As your legislator, Tammy will promote and support public policy that strengthens Idaho agriculture and water.

ARTICLE XIV. AMERICAN FAMILY

Section 3. Right to Life

C. We oppose abortion based on sex selection, convenience, or as a method of birth control.

D. We oppose partial birth abortion and we support legislation to abolish this practice.

COMMENT: As set forth, theses two sentences, in C. and D., appear to imply that Idaho may accept abortions for other reasons, which conflicts with my beliefs, and seems to contradict with E. and the overall positive pro-life message in the rest of Section 3.
