Biography & Background

My name is Sebastian Griffin, and I am extremely honored and humbled to have the opportunity to run to represent my hometown, Nampa, Idaho!

My wife and I grew up in Nampa, met while attending Nampa High School, and are creating a life together in the city we love most. I love Nampa, I am proud to live in Nampa, and I am grateful for this opportunity to give back and support those, who have always supported me!

I am a lifelong Republican, a 5th generation Idahoan! I take pride in being “Idaho Born and Raised”. As Idahoans, we are in a constant battle to preserve our rights, and that is something that I do not take lightly and will work tirelessly to meet Nampa citizens, and represent them well. I have been a non-stop advocate for keeping schools open, keeping parents a part of the conversation, empowering our amazing educators and administrators, and giving our children the education they deserve! I believe in a city where neighbors support neighbors, now more than ever we need to come together as a community and make this a reality. We are Nampa, we are 2C, and we are Idaho!

I want to lead the next generation of conservatives because we must re-engage our party and our values to save this state and pave the way for the future of Nampa. We are a city of resilience, strong work ethic, and grit. I am not an individual that stands idly by. It is the Nampa way to roll up our sleeves and get to work, and I will do exactly that.

As citizens, it is our obligation to know who we are electing to represent not only ourselves but our entire community. I take this opportunity to serve as a humbling experience, and one I won’t take for granted. It is my hope that you will entrust me to represent this great community in the Idaho House of Representatives, District 12 Seat A!

Top 3 Issues:

1. Property and Income Taxes: Idaho is one of only four states that tax groceries at a normal state tax rate. I find this morally reprehensible. Almost as reprehensible as taxing a person’s income. I believe their state needs a Jurassic overhaul in both the grocery tax and sales tax. I recognize the need for taxation to pay for appropriate and legitimate government expenditures such as roads and defense, but we must take a macro view of the proper use of the forced confiscation of free–men and free–women’s personal property. The best way to strengthen families, grow businesses and boost our national economy is to let taxpayers keep more of their money. It is time to get serious about reducing property taxes. I will be a tireless advocate for property tax reduction and I will work hard to find solutions to this major problem!

2. Education: I have a passion, a vision, and a desire to improve our education system in Idaho. At the age of 17, I took a keen interest in our education system and how it could be improved, I knew it was time for me to take action. I authored and with the support of many great legislators passed Senate Bill 1060 in Idaho, one of the youngest to ever do so. When schools were forced to close, due to staffing shortages and illness, my wife Macy and I stood up for our children and became substitute teachers. When parents felt cut out of the conversation we gave them a voice, an outlet. We need to find more solutions to these unprecedented problems and that is what I plan to do. Parents must always have a say in their children’s education. I call it Education Freedom. If I am elected I will continue to work to protect the rights of parents to have a voice in what their children are learning in Idaho’s public schools, I will protect your Education Freedom! We have the most amazing educators and administrators right here in Idaho. We must stand up and finally compete for the education our students need! When we have a strong educational foundation, we will in return have a strong workforce, and ultimately a stronger economy. I will continue to fight hard for the betterment of our children’s education, an education system that stands for parent and teacher support.

3. Pro-life: Life is a precious gift from God, and I am strongly committed to protecting the rights of our unborn children. The unborn are the least capable of defending themselves and in the most desperate need of protection. I am strongly pro-life, always have been, and always will be. Both at the beginning and at the end of life. Life begins at conception, and every unborn child has the inherent right to life. I will, therefore, only support legislation that protects and promotes human life, including the unborn. I will continue to consistently support legislation that protects the rights of the unborn.
