Biography & Background

Born and raised in Idaho. Accounting degree from BYU. Former small business owner, business consultant and partner in CPA firm. Two terms on Meridian (now West Ada) School Board. Extensive international experience. Raised eight children in Meridian; numerous grandchildren. Serves on Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee, and as vice-chairman of the Senate Taxation Committee.

Top 3 Issues:

1. Protecting Idaho taxpayers while maintaining the fiscal integrity of the state. Doing extensive work on property tax legislation that would provide a major reduction for owner-occupied residences.
2. Education. Continue to adequately fund education, while assuring that public education teaches patriotism and basic Idaho values. Also respects the rights of parents to choose the form of education they feel is best for their children.
3. Transportation. Promoted the largest transportation budget in Idaho’s history. This budget includes the extension of Highway 16 from Highway 20/26 to Interstate 84, including the necessary freeway interchange.

Art XIV, Sec 3 A. – I do not agree that abortion should be considered murder in cases of rape, incest, or to preserve the life of the mother.
Art XIV, Sec 3 E. As above, I do not oppose abortion in certain extreme circumstances.
