Paul Amador

State Representative Legislative District 4 Seat B

Biography & Background

I grew up on a small family farm where I learned many lessons about a hard day’s work and developed an appreciation and connection with the land. I worked multiple jobs during college to help pay my way through school, including working for a dairy processing facility, a large tree nursery, and an agricultural chemical company where I literally spent time building railroads.

During my time in college I met my wife, Julie, through mutual friends. Julie and I were married shortly after we graduated from college and just recently celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. We are blessed to have two amazing little boys, Peter who is four and Simon who is one.

I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family exploring Idaho and traveling to destinations near and far. I also enjoy spending as much time in the water as possible, whether that is in Lake Coeur d'Alene, the Spokane River, or in a pool at the Kroc Center.

I currently own and operate an education and development consulting business with my wife and also own a small family farm with my brother and sister. Prior to starting my own business I spent about a dozen years working as an administrator in higher education, working to build educational opportunities for students and economic outcomes for communities. I have a B.S. in Agricultural Economics and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership.

I have had the privilege of serving and volunteering with many organizations in North Idaho, including: Heritage Health, Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission (IGEM), CDA Economic Development Corporation, and the North Idaho Tourism Summit.

I believe I am the trusted, conservative, and experienced Republican in this election and I humbly ask for your support.

Top 3 Issues:

1. Education: We need to develop and deliver an educational system that values educators, provides students various educational pathways, engages parents with choices in their child's learning, and ensures that children learn how to think, not what to think.
2. Economy: We need to prepare a smart and well-trained citizenry that will create high-paying jobs and increase our economic opportunities in Idaho. We also need to minimize government regulation as much as possible to ensure business can thrive without unnecessary red-tape.
3. Family: As a husband and father of two small children I recognize the very cornerstone role that families play in Idahoans lives. I have consistently fought to protect the rights of families. I want to ensure every Idahoan can freely live, work, play, and raise a family in our great state.

Integrity in Affiliation

Submission: Yes

“I have read the Idaho Constitution and the Idaho Republican Party Platform. Except for the provisions specifically noted below, I support the Idaho Republican Party Platform and accept it as the standard by which my performance as a candidate and as an officeholder should be evaluated. I certify that I am not a candidate, officer, delegate or position holder in any party other than the Republican Party.”

Section 3, C: I do not support repealing the 17th Amendment, which allows citizens to directly vote and elect U.S. Senators.

Section 4, A: While I believe this section has noble intentions in backing our currency with precious metals, on a practical level I do not believe it is implementable.
