Biography & Background

I am a lifelong resident of Canyon County where my husband of 35 years and I raised our children while owning and operating a construction and painting company. For more than 15 years I wrote columns about painting and politics in the Press Tribune. “Don’t Get Me Started” was the name of the column and it helped provide an outlet for my political frustrations.

For many years I have been elected as a precinct committeeman for the Republican party. I have also served as District 12 Chairman, as well as the Canyon County Republican Central Committee Chairman, and currently am the Idaho Republican Party Vice Chair. I have long sought to serve the citizens of Canyon County.

I have worked as a Senate Attache in the Idaho Legislature for several years, and I currently serve as the Director of Communications for the Idaho Lieutenant Governor. I am, by far, the most experienced and conservative candidate for State Representative District 12A.

Each one of us has the duty and obligation to protect and defend our inheritance, our great state, our republic, so that we may pass it on to our children and grandchildren. As a lifelong Idahoan with a passion for freedom, no patience for the liberal agenda, and the desire to keep Idaho a true conservative state, I ask your help to defend it.

Top 3 Issues:

1. We MUST address the problems we have with our education system. Public schools are failing our children and are an enormous tax burden. Parents DO have a say in their children’s education, and they should also have a choice on where and how that education occurs. Private schools go out of business when they fail, public schools get more money thrown at them and this is wrong. Idaho spends $6,800 per student, yet teachers’ salaries are $50k a year. The balance is consumed by a calcified bureaucracy.
2. I believe that growth and property taxes must be addressed. We are the conservative bastion to many political refugees, and while you cannot blame those who choose to come here, we must deal with this rapid growth before our state declines as well. Property taxes should never be such a burden that people lose their home, or a roadblock to new home purchases.
3. As a conservative I believe in individual freedom and liberty, and right now, the most important issue is health freedom. No one should ever be forced to receive a medical procedure to keep their job or be a part of society, and the government should never have the power to shut down private businesses, nonprofits, or churches. Also, I believe that election integrity is important. We might not see it as an issue here in Idaho, but make no mistake, everything reaches us at some point, and establishing foolproof systems early on will only secure our voting integrity. If we lose faith in our elections, we are no longer a free society.
