Jason Knopp was raised in Kuna, Idaho where he graduated in 1997, and has lived in Melba, Idaho for 22 years.
Jason grew up as a testament to the power of public service. His step-father was a police officer for 30 years, and it helped inspire his early service as a volunteer fire fighter for Melba fire. Soon after, he grew into a professional firefighter where he has served in the Nampa Fire Department for over 14 years. Jason is currently a Driver/Operator for Nampa Fire, and enjoys serving the patrons of Nampa in that role.
Jason has also served for 8 years on the Melba School Board, where he is currently the Board Chair. He is proud of the work he has done to serve the students and families of Melba, and even more having done-so utilizing only the state appropriation and not relying on voter-approved supplemental levies.
He has also served on the Idaho School Boards Association Executive Board for 7 years – four years representing “”small school districts”” for Region 3 and currently as ISBA President. During that time, he has co-chaired two committees for bylaw changes, taking significant time and care to ensure all voices of school board members are heard at the Association Level. He also served as the ISBA representative for the Idaho High School Athletic Activities Association for nearly 5 years.
