Top 3 Issues

Issue 1

Education – Always a top issue in Idaho. With the recent dyslexia law, I will follow up to ensure students have adequate assistive technology resources for those identified with dyslexia in K-12 schools.

Issue 2

Property Taxes – A proper balance needs to be found between residential, commercial and agriculture property taxes. As home values increase, so have the proportion of taxes. This issue is complicated and will continue to be worked on.

Issue 3

Economy – My focus is improving the economy in east Idaho. Currently I have been working with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to get Main St roads patched up properly in Rexburg and computerize the traffic lights for improved flow. I also introduced legislation to allow cities to install broadband internet fiber cable which providers could tap into for increased speeds to homes and businesses. I will continue to support policies which help improve our local economy.
