Oliver North & Local Purple Heart Recipients at State Convention in Pocatello

July 6, 2018

At our state convention in Pocatello last week, we had the privilege to facilitate meetings with our guest dinner speaker, retired Lt. Col. Oliver North, and some local Veterans — including two Purple Heart recipients.

Nick Carson served with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines and now runs American Built Clothing, an American-made apparel and gear line, out of Pocatello. Lt. Col. North did a documentary on his battalion in 2004. Nick and his wife Britney spent some time chatting with Lt. Col. North at a reception before dinner.

Russell Davies served with the 101st Airborne Division and is the founder of Professional Transformation Sports Development (PTSD), a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the benefits of outdoor recreation with veterans of the U.S. Military inflicted with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. Russell and his colleague Liz Breuker, also a Veteran, spoke with Lt. Col. North as well.

Lt. Col. North was incredibly gracious, and it was wonderful for us to meet these outstanding local Veterans.
