Dear Fellow Idahoans:
I wanted to give you a quick update on the 2018 Idaho United-Idaho Strong Republican state Convention in Pocatello June 28-30. It was a huge success thanks to the presence of Republicans from all across Idaho and because of the hard work of our amazing Bannock County GOP hosts!
I am humbled that convention Delegates and Alternates placed their trust in me and re-elected me State Party Chairman. It is a great honor and a responsibility I take very seriously.
Congratulations also go to our newly elected and re-elected State Party Officers: 1st Vice Chair Jennifer Locke, 2nd Vice Chair Bryan Smith, Treasurer Tom Kealey and Secretary Marla Lawson. We have an amazing dream team!
As you know, with so many open seats we are facing one of the most important elections in recent history, at a time of significant change in our state, and we need responsible, principled conservative leadership for Idaho now more than ever. My pledge to you is that the State Party will give everything we’ve got, and provide maximum support to our candidates and county parties, to make sure we achieve victory in November.
Our message of respecting and promoting Idaho Values resonates strongly with Idaho voters of all ages and backgrounds. In contrast to the Democrats – who up and down the ticket embrace California-style politics and extreme positions such as higher taxes, bigger government, gun control, sanctuary cities, lax border security and restrictions on religious liberty – Republicans don’t see Idahoans’ values as “deplorable.” We believe the Idaho Values of limited government, fiscal responsibility, 2nd Amendment rights and pro-family policies are exactly what make our state great. We don’t need to “change” Idaho; we need to keep our values intact as we go through changing times.
It’s going to be an exciting year. I’m honored to serve alongside so many people who are dedicated to our party and most importantly, to our beautiful state. And now, on to Victory!
Jonathan Parker, Chairman
Idaho Republican Party
