BOISE – Idaho Republican Party Chairman Steve Yates issued the following statement after yesterday’s overwhelming Republican victory in the General Election.
“I would first like to take a moment and congratulate President-elect Donald Trump, Vice President-elect Mike Pence, Senator Mike Crapo, Congressman Raul Labrador, Congressman Mike Simpson, and all of the down ticket Republicans who were victorious last night.
Voters made one thing abundantly clear – we want Republican leadership in our state and nation. Americans are tired of business as usual, and want change. Yesterday was a testament of what can happen when Republicans come together and stand behind our candidates and our values.
I want to personally thank everyone who made these victories possible. Because of the support of many around the state, we were able to put resources into legislative districts that allowed us to defeat the Democrat House Minority Leader, and senior ranking Democrat in the Senate. Yesterday was a compilation of the effort by countless individuals over the last two years. Our victory can be credited to the time, hard work, and financial support they contributed to this great cause.
Today, I couldn’t be more proud to be a Republican. We worked together as a Party and accomplished great things. Let us continue that trend as we move into the next four years of conservative leadership in our state and nation. “
